Create a strong random password

Choose a length and the character types you want, then generate a new password instantly. A longer password with a larger character set is generally harder to guess.

How to use the password generator

  1. Choose the password length.
  2. Select lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols.
  3. Select Generate Password.
  4. Copy the result and save it in a trusted password manager.

Private browser-based generation

The password is created locally on your device using the Web Crypto API. Utivaro does not need to receive the generated password to create it.

Match the account requirements

Choose the length first, then select the allowed character types. For a service that accepts it, a 20-character password using lowercase letters, uppercase letters, numbers and symbols is one possible configuration. Generate a different password for each account instead of reusing an example from a guide.

What the options change

The generator supports 6 to 64 characters. Exclude ambiguous characters removes lookalike characters that can be difficult to type by hand. If the service rejects symbols, change the selected types and generate a new result.

The displayed length guide is not a guarantee against compromise. Keep the generated result private; it is visible on your screen and can be copied to your clipboard. Use the UUID Generator when you need a non-secret record identifier rather than a password.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Utivaro store generated passwords?

No. The generator works in your browser and does not require an account.

Length adds strength fastest: 16 random lowercase letters beat any 8-character password. Excluding ambiguous characters costs almost nothing. Guessing times and passphrases are covered in How Strong Is Your Password?
